How a media group split its SAP system with 70+ interfaces
A global media and entertainment company with 50,000+ employees split its SAP landscape across multiple business entities. An SAP BTP architect led the integration strategy and delivered 70+ interfaces on SAP Integration Suite and SAP Advanced Event Mesh. Child companies started operating without integration disruption, and data migration ran 3x faster.

The challenge
The company had to split a complex SAP system across multiple business entities, migrating and segregating data for new child companies while legacy systems and tightly coupled integrations stayed in use. Integrations had to keep working during and after migration, on an architecture able to scale for multi-entity operations.

Questions
How was integration continuity protected during the SAP system split?
Interfaces were designed, adapted, and validated alongside the data migration, so existing connections kept working while child companies were separated and onboarded. Testing, deployment, and stabilization were covered across the full project lifecycle, which reduced disruption during the transition.
What did the integration architecture need to support?
It had to support separation of child companies from the parent landscape, onboarding of new entities, and ongoing operations across SAP and non-SAP systems. The design used SAP Integration Suite and SAP Advanced Event Mesh on SAP BTP to give the landscape room to scale.
How large was the delivery effort?
A team of 10 delivered over 14 months, building more than 70 interfaces across enterprise and subsidiary systems. The work included integration design, migration support, validation, and stabilization in an SAP ECC and S/4HANA environment.
